Asparagus & Chicken Pizza

Pizza night gets a seasonal upgrade with Ontario asparagus. Paired with tender chicken, melted cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, this easy pizza comes together quickly using store-bought pizza dough.

Ingredients

  • 1 ball store-bought pizza dough
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 8-12 spears Ontario asparagus, trimmed. Shave with vegetable peeler or cut into 2-inch pieces
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast, sliced or shredded
  • 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).
  • Roll or stretch pizza dough into a 12-inch circle and place on a pizza pan or baking sheet.
  • Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  • Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge.
  • Top with mozzarella cheese, chicken, and asparagus.
  • Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve.

Notes

Tip: Rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut and makes this pizza even easier to pull together on a busy weeknight. You can also just add chicken and asparagus to a Frozen pizza to elevate it into something special.
