
Asparagus & Chicken Pizza
Pizza night gets a seasonal upgrade with Ontario asparagus. Paired with tender chicken, melted cheese, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze, this easy pizza comes together quickly using store-bought pizza dough.
Ingredients
- 1 ball store-bought pizza dough
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 8-12 spears Ontario asparagus, trimmed. Shave with vegetable peeler or cut into 2-inch pieces
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup pizza sauce
- 1 ½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup cooked chicken breast, sliced or shredded
- 2 tbsp balsamic glaze
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C).
- Roll or stretch pizza dough into a 12-inch circle and place on a pizza pan or baking sheet.
- Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edge.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, chicken, and asparagus.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and drizzle with balsamic glaze.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, slice, and serve.
Notes
Tip: Rotisserie chicken is a great shortcut and makes this pizza even easier to pull together on a busy weeknight. You can also just add chicken and asparagus to a Frozen pizza to elevate it into something special.
